Analysis of the right flange shaft of the electric drum

The right flange shaft (referred to as the right shaft or front shaft) of the electric drum is used to support the self weight of the drum, and on the other hand, it is used to bear the tension of the conveyor belt. It is one of the main components of the drum. We will briefly explain this knowledge through the following materials.
Due to the different forms of electric drum transmission, there are two types of right shafts: fixed shaft and rotating shaft. When the right shaft is connected to the fixed part of the transmission device, such as a gearbox driven by involute gears, the right shaft is fixed and does not rotate. In order to ensure the connection of the output shaft of the cycloidal pinwheel transmission driven by the drum body, the right shaft is connected to the drum body and rotates at the same speed. At this point, the bearing is installed between the bracket and the right shaft, which increases the volume of the bracket and may even cause asymmetry between the left and right brackets.
The shaft heads of the right and left axles are usually the same. The shaft head is milled into a flat, square, or keyway on a circular shaft. The front axle can be connected to the transmission device through flat keys and welding, and the right shaft of the electric drum can be cast as a whole with the gearbox. The split type right shaft connected by a flat key is easy to process, while the casting process for the right shaft or gearbox integrated with welding is complex.
The right and left shafts are the main components supporting the electric drum, and their compressive strength and corrosion resistance are important. In general, to prevent corrosion of the right flange shaft, electroplating or painting methods are used to improve its corrosion resistance and ensure the safety of the cylinder.
